Fat Charlie Nancy is an unassuming American making a life for himself in England, namely away from his father, who has made him the butt of all jokes since he was a child. He has an average job, and a charming fiancée who loves him dearly. When his father dies, however, his world is plunged into the unknown. He learns he has a brother, a successful, charming brother who can woo anyone into doing anything he wants. Fat Charlie must reconcile with his long lost brother to fight an oath made to an other-worldy witch. He must also reluctantly keep his father's honour, despite finding out only after his death, that Charlie Nancy's Dad was Anansi: the spririt of rebellion with the ability to baffle anyone, even the devil. Once again, Gaiman weaves a tale so outrageous and original, you can't help but be captivated. His characters are larger than life, deep and loveable. His plot here is full of twists and turns, with a very unexpected ending. As always, Gaiman's story is dark and edgey, full of humour and breathtaking moments that will leave you wanting more.
