 | Baby Love | | A comprehensive guide to your baby's first year. | Rating: | |
|
Robin Barker's 'Baby Love' is an easy-to-read, common sensical guide for new parents in their first year with a new baby. Barker has 25 years experience as a midwife, family health nurse and mother, and she draws on this experience well. Split into 3-month sections, 'Baby Love' offers feeding, sleeping and nappy changing tips, as well as a developmental chart at the end of each section so that the reader can compare their child's development. Robin Barker has guided both my sister and me through our children's first twelve months. Her sage advice (if your baby vomits green after feeding her avocado, don't worry. Try again in a couple of weeks) and her warmth and humour make this book easy to read. 'Baby Love' is very reassuring in that it gives the new mother trust in herself, in her abilities and perhaps more importantly in today's society, in her maternal instincts.
