Resident doctor Abby DiMatteo has her faith system shattered as she is swept up in an organ donation scandal at the hospital that has become her life's blood. Working her way into the exclusive transplant surgeons unit, DiMatteo is confronted with suicides, threats, illegal human organ harvesting, and finally her own imminent death at the hands of someone she should have been able to trust.

 

I really enjoyed this book. Its twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat and the way Gerritsen works the story until Dr DiMatteo is virtually cut off by everyone in her life is quite simply genius. A cast of strong characters and intriguing plot will mean a shock for the reader at the conclusion of the novel, unless they're very, very clever. Gerritsen has a way of winding up her readers and surely as she does her characters, and that is no different in "Harvest".
