 | Tomorrow, When the War Began | | The first in John Marsden's incredible 'Tomorrow' series. | Rating: | |

Ellie and her friends are normal teenagers, going on a camping trip before school starts after the summer holidays. They camp remotely, in an area of bushland almost impossible to reach. When they return, Ellie's world is turned upside down. Her country has been invaded, her parents held hostage with the rest of her town. Ellie and the group with her are the only people in the area able to fight the occupation. 'Tomorrow When the War Began' is such an incredible start to a series. Written in first person, John Marsden shows his talent remarkably in exactly getting inside a teenage girl's head. The story is a chilling one; of war, of friendship, of adolesence. Marsden takes the reader on a fast-paced ride that will leave you breathless. And possibly ducking into the bushes at the sound of planes and helicopters.
